Boat Fire Sends Up Smoke At Marina In Old Saybrook

Firefighters raced to a Connecticut marina after a blaze began inside a boat.

The fire began in Middlesex County on Monday, Nov. 25 just before 12:30 p.m., when a boat was seen on fire at a marina in Old Saybrook, according to the Old Saybrook Fire Department.

The boat had been on land while being stored for the off-season, firefighters said.

The department's fireboat quickly responded to the scene and began fighting the blaze.

A video of the incident was posted on the department's Facebook page.

The Fire Marshal's office is now investigating the fire.
